Academic/Community Outreach/Research Initiatives:

Ø     Pioneered the University Grants Commission, Government of India, New Delhi (UGC) sponsored National Youth Network to involve the University Youth on the national level in the social service sector to reach out to students directly, with institutions working as facilitators. Among the objectives if the NYN is to network youth across the nation with the help of technological tools like the web and internet, apart from inter-personal contact, to make the Higher Education System a ‘National Village’ approachable and communicative. The NYN has involved 23 universities from all over India, with 154 students participating in the initial 3-day Conference Empowerment: Youth Leadership Training Program.

Ø     Conceptualized “Reach the Reachable Rightly(3R) Program, and have already experienced the effectiveness of this program through an ongoing project which is under progress primarily aiming at Adult Education / Adult Literacy for women of the city of Ulhasnagar in close co-ordination with UMC, the local self-government body.

The following Research Papers have been accepted/ presented in International Conferences:

o       “A Self-Nurturing Community Welfare Program based on India’s Public Welfare System on the concept of Reach Reachable Rightly with focus on Adult Education” at New Destinations to Literary, Learning & Life – A National Conference on Adult Education hosted by New Jersey State Employment and Training Commission, from December 14 – 15, 2005 at Trump Plaza, Atlantic City, New Jersey.

o       Reach the Reachable Rightly (3R):  A process of effective reach through Community Welfare Programme to enhance Reachability in Participatory Action Research” at ALARMP 7th & PAR 11th World Congress Action Research. Standard Ethics – Groniningen, Netherlands, Conference, from August 21 – 24, 2006.

o       Reaching the Reachable Rightly (3R) – outreach that strengthens the networking between the community and university system”, at the 15th EAN Annual Conference, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece from 30th August to 2nd September 2006.

o       Reach the Reachable Rightly - a process of Research-oriented development of an Adult Education Programme based on Public Welfare System at the International Conference in Adult Education” at the international Conference organised by Adults Education Regional Centre, Ministry of Education and Research, Alaxandru Ioan Qza University, IASI, Romania from 8th to 10th September 2006s.

Ø     Established the UGC-sponsored Gandhian Studies Center – a Center for Research, in the theory and practice of Gandhian values and ideology.

Ø     Established the UGC-sponsored Women’s Studies Center – a Center for Research and Practice to Outreach to the community for women’s empowerment.

Ø     Initiated the UGC-sponsored Remedial Coaching program for students of minority communities.
